About Us
We created Date Box because life got busy
Before Date Box, there was a young family, a busy life—and two people who suddenly realised we had become very good at being parents… and slightly less good at being a couple.
Our days were full of routines, responsibilities and conversations like:
“Who’s doing bath time?”
“Did you pack the nappies?”
“Have we run out of snacks again?”
Somewhere between the never-ending washing and bedtime negotiations, we realised we didn’t have much of a relationship outside the kids.
So we decided to start dating each other again.
With a young family, that mostly meant dating at home.
One of us was naturally sentimental, remembered the little details and loved making ordinary moments feel meaningful.
The other loved the idea of sentimentality but had absolutely no clue what it looked like in practice.
One of us was also naturally talented—and extremely modest—at planning dates.
Then came the sentence:
“I really wish I could plan a date like you.”
And Date Box was born.
Thoughtfully planned experiences that bring the ideas, atmosphere and meaningful details together—without one person carrying all the planning or sentimental heavy lifting.
Because you shouldn’t have to be naturally gifted at date night to make your person feel chosen.
